Next Act Musical Society is a new performing arts society serving the Wigan, Bolton and Salford areas. We have been created to bring people together through a shared love of musical theatre and performance, while building a welcoming, supportive and ambitious local arts community.
Founded by Jake Little and Matt Johnson, Next Act was established with a clear aim: to create high-quality productions and performance opportunities in a society that feels fresh, positive and well organised. With experience across performance, directing, technical theatre and society leadership, they wanted to create a group where people can work together, develop their skills and be proud of what they achieve.
We believe theatre should be open to everyone. Whether you enjoy performing on stage, working backstage, helping with technical production, or supporting in a volunteer role, Next Act aims to give people the chance to get involved, grow in confidence and be part of something exciting.
Our focus is on producing memorable musical theatre and performance events with creativity, professionalism and ambition. Just as importantly, we want to create a society where people feel encouraged, respected and valued, and where new ideas and new talent are always welcome.
As we grow, our aim is to build a strong reputation for quality productions, enjoyable member experiences and meaningful community involvement. Next Act Musical Society is at the beginning of its journey, and we are excited about what comes next.
